The official start of spring is just around the corner, and Norfolk is certainly starting to feel a bit more lively again.

This week’s events are a real mix. You can admire thousands of daffodils in Honing, watch Shire horses lead the St Winnold’s Day parade in Downham Market, sample drinks at the Fakenham Gin & Beer Festival, or browse woolly creations at the East Anglian Yarn Festival.

Honing Daffodil Day (22 March)

Take a stroll down Long Road and appreciate this impressive daffodil display! Hop aboard a vintage tractor ride departing from the village hall for a journey down the country lane. Explore the Old Village Shop Museum and the Village Forge, both open for the day. There will also be homemade treats available at the village hall.

Cromer New Music Weekend (20 - 22 March)

Enjoy a series of three concerts at Cromer Parish Hall offering the “stimulus of the new with the familiarity of more established music.” Advance booking is recommended.

Fakenham Gin & Beer Festival (21 - 22 March)

Returning for its 12th edition, the Fakenham Gin & Beer Festival promises an impressive lineup featuring 25 varieties of beers and ciders, alongside the renowned Black Shuck gin and an array of spirits. Indulge in delicious food offerings while enjoying live music, all in support of the Fakenham Community Centre and First Focus.

East Anglian Yarn Festival (21 - 22 March)

If you enjoy knitting, crochet, spinning or any fibre arts, you don’t want to miss this festival at Norfolk Showground. There will be more than 85 amazing fibre festival vendors from across the UK, as well as classes and workshops for a range of different woolly related crafts.

St Winnold’s Day Parade (21 March)

The St Winnold Day Parade in Downham Market sees magnificent Shire Horses and mini-donkeys leading a colourful procession of county dignitaries, sword and mace bearers, honoured guests and local schoolchildren through the town. The celebrations also include the annual blessing of the weekly markets and a Discover Downham display exploring St Winnold’s link to the town’s historic horse markets.

Go on a cultural journey with various Japanese activities, from language tasters to the delicate art of origami and Japanese calligraphy. It is all offered for free, courtesy of the Japan Foundation.

Country Club – Country Music Festival (21 March)

A country music party is coming to Epic Studios in Norwich! Get ready for non-stop country music hits from Luke Combs, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, Taylor Swift and more, plus line dancing, giveaways, and wild west décor.

Football Collector’s Fair (22 March)

On the Stall City is hosting a Football Collector’s Fair at the Forum. You can expect an exhibition of matchworn shirts. Fantastic Football Freestyler performance, a Trader’s Marke for football programmes and memorabilia, and more. Entry is free.

Circus Fantasia in Norwich (18 – 29 March at Norfolk Showground)

The latest chapter of the circus adventure promises an action-packed, fun-filled show with a host of exciting new acts guaranteed to keep audiences on the edge of their seats. With something for everyone, from age 2 to 92, it’s a live two-hour performance set inside a climate-controlled big top, complete with stadium-style seating and a live circus orchestra.
