Chasing poppies, steam trains, butterflies and more 🌺

Hello Norfolk explorers 👋 We hope you're having a great week. Last weekend was all about chasing poppies for us! It's incredible how many amazing poppy fields there are in Norfolk this year. I think my favourite was the one by Kelling (pictured above), which has a sea view and where we were lucky enough to see a rainbow. The poppy field near Blakeney was also impressive, and there are too many around Courtyard Farm near Ringstead to count. We took so many photos that we're still sharing them...

Hello Norfolk explorers 👋 We hope you're having a great week. If social media is anything to go by, it feels like everyone in Norfolk is talking about the poppies right now. We haven't made it there yet, but it's firmly on our weekend plans and we'll be sure to report back. In the meantime, we've included a photo from our visit last year to the Sandringham poppy field. Of course, there's plenty more happening across the county too, from vintage festivals and carnivals to circus performances,...

Hello Norfolk explorers 👋 We really couldn’t have asked for better weather over the Bank Holiday weekend. Ok, maybe it was a little too hot at times, but hopefully you managed to stay cool and enjoy some time outdoors. We spent part of the weekend at the Norwich Games Festival, which was great fun, and also got out for a riverside walk and another visit to Sheringham Park. The rhododendrons are still looking lovely in places, although this recent heat seems to have pushed some areas past...

Hello Norfolk explorers 👋 We’ve got another Bank Holiday weekend coming up, plus half-term, which means Norfolk is absolutely packed with things to do over the next week. From medieval battles and LEGO displays to gaming events, live music, funfairs and motoring shows, there’s a huge mix happening across the county for all ages and interests. It also feels like one of those weeks where you could easily fill the whole half-term without leaving Norfolk. Here’s what else is going on across...

Hello Norfolk explorers 👋 I hope you’ve been enjoying the mostly lovely weather lately. We spent part of the weekend out exploring with our friends from Brancaster Stays, who showed us around Barrow Common. There are so many different paths to wander, lots of wildlife, and some fantastic views, so it’s definitely worth checking out if you get the chance. I will share more about this hidden gem soon, but in the meantime, check out this short video. We also made a trip to Sheringham Park to see...

Hello Norfolk explorers 👋 I hope you managed to get out and enjoy some of the lovely weather over the Bank Holiday weekend. One of the highlights for us was the Costessey Fete and Fayre. The volunteers did such a great job, it really felt like one of those proper community events. If you’ve never been, you can check out our short video here to get a feel for it. Also, a quick heads up on bluebells this year. They’ve come out earlier than usual, and in some spots they’re already a bit past...

Hello Norfolk explorers 👋 Anyone else looking forward to the Bank Holiday weekend? It’s shaping up to be a busy one across Norfolk, with everything from beer festivals and village events to steam galas and food festivals. We were out at Blickling Great Wood last weekend and the bluebells were looking lovely, so if you’re planning a walk, now is a great time to go. You can see our top picks for where to find them here. We also finally made it to Tulips for Tapping, which absolutely lived up to...

Hello Norfolk explorers 👋 This week has a very British feel to it across Norfolk. St George’s Day celebrations are popping up around the county, and there are plenty of food and drink festivals to go with it, from cider and ale to local produce in Norwich. Tulip season is still going strong too, so if you haven’t made it out yet, there’s still time. Here’s what else is happening across Norfolk this week ⬇️ ✨ What's Happening Around Norfolk This Week? St. George’s Pig and Cider Festival (24 -...

Hello Norfolk explorers 👋 This week is all about tulips in Norfolk. Tulips for Tapping returns with millions of blooms across the fields, and as usual it’s one of the most in-demand events of the year. If you managed to get tickets, you’re in for a treat. And if not, there’s still a chance to enjoy the colours at Houghton. Alongside that, there’s plenty happening across the county, from food festivals and artisan markets to a coastal marathon. Here’s what else is happening across Norfolk this...
