Spring Has Arrived Early in Norfolk 🌷


Hello, Norfolk explorers! 👋

Hasn’t it been lovely seeing a some warmer weather this week? It finally feels like spring is starting to wake up across Norfolk.

If the weather holds, this is a brilliant weekend to get outside. It’s a big one for train enthusiasts with two special railway events happening, and Norwich Food Week makes its debut in the city.

It’s also likely your last proper chance to see snowdrops before the daffodils take over. The photo above is from Trowse Wood.

Norwich Food Week (27 February - 8 March)

A brand new celebration of Norwich’s food scene, with more than 50 restaurants, cafés and bars offering special menus and deals from £5 to £35. It’s a great excuse to try somewhere new or revisit an old favourite.

Local Saver Weekend at Bure Valley Railroad (Feb 28 - 1 March)

The Bure Valley Railway runs from Wroxham to Aylsham. You can get 50% OFF all full priced fares by using the code LOCAL5025 at checkout or when calling 01263 733858. If you’re feeling energetic and the weather cooperates, you could take the train one way and walk back along the Bure Valley Path. It’s nine miles and a lovely stretch.

Whitwell & Reepham Station Anniversary Weekend (Feb 28 - 1 March)

Free entry and parking, heritage train rides behind steam and diesel locomotives, plus guided tours, local stalls and food on site. You can even try driving the train or take a footplate ride. It’s always a popular weekend for railway fans.

King’s Lynn Fairground Mart (14 - 28 February)

Tuesday Market Place transforms into a traditional funfair celebrating King’s Lynn’s fairground heritage. Rides, stalls and that nostalgic fairground atmosphere right in the heart of town.

Walsingham Abbey Snowdrops (26 January - 1 March)

One of the best places to see snowdrops in Norfolk. Wander the Abbey grounds, ruins, Crypt, museum, and prison while enjoying one of the first signs of spring.
