Hello Norfolk explorers 👋 The cooler weather this week has been a nice relief after all that heat, and it made for perfect conditions to be out and about. With the summer holidays now underway across Norfolk, there's plenty to keep everyone busy. We had such a laugh at the World Snail Racing Championships this past weekend, even though our snails were nowhere near the final. Snailor Swift took the crown this year, but we will be back to give it another go next year. There's just something special about seeing all ages out there cheering their snails on together. We're also very excited about the Sandringham Flower Show returning this week. It's stepping up to a full RHS show for the first time, with the King and Queen expected to attend, and Anisa has been invited along too. Here's everything happening across Norfolk this week ⬇️ ✨ What's Happening Around Norfolk This Week?🌸 Sandringham Flower Show (22–26 July) The RHS Sandringham Flower Show comes to the Sandringham Estate for the first time this year, running across five days. Expect show gardens, talks from horticultural experts, and local food and drink in the estate's historic setting. Tickets must be booked in advance. Get more information here. 🏳️🌈 Norwich Pride (25 July) Norwich Pride returns for its 18th year, with the march leaving City Hall at 1pm followed by free stalls, entertainment and activities in Chapelfield Gardens. Get more information here. 🎪 Worstead Festival (25–26 July) Norfolk's biggest village festival celebrates its 60th anniversary this year, with live music, entertainment, food and drink, and craft stalls. Under 16s go free when accompanied by an adult. Get more information here. 🍜 Taste of Thailand Festival (25–26 July) Earlham Park fills with authentic Thai street food, drinks and live music for a weekend celebrating Thai culture, including Thai boxing demonstrations and stage performances that shift into DJ sets as the afternoon goes on. Get more information here. ✈️ Old Buckenham Airshow (25–26 July) Aircraft spanning the last eight decades take to the skies alongside electric aircraft, with a Gourmet Food Village, hundreds of classic cars, and two museums to explore on the ground. Tickets must be bought in advance. Get more information here. 🍔 King's Lynn Food Festival (25–26 July) Now in its second year, this two day street food festival brings 32 stalls to the Tuesday Market Place, organised by King's Lynn and District Round Table 54. Get more information here. 🎭 Norwich Theatre Open Day (26 July) Norwich Theatre Royal and Stage Two throw open their doors for a free day of behind the scenes access, with guided tours backstage, beneath the stage and into the dressing rooms, plus a family activity trail and face painting. BSL, audio described, level access and quiet tours are available to book in advance. Get more information here. 🎻 King's Lynn Festival (12–25 July) England's oldest music festival is marking its 75th anniversary this year with a packed two week programme of concerts, films and walks across King's Lynn's historic venues. It wraps up this coming Saturday, so it's your last chance to catch it. Under 25s get half price tickets. Get more information here. 📜 Norwich History Festival (14–24 July) Now in its second year, this eleven-day festival explores why history matters, with talks, walks, film screenings, workshops and exhibitions taking place across venues in the city, covering Norwich's rich and varied past. Get more information here. 🎪 Summer Circus & Water Spectacular (8 July–13 September) International circus acts share the bill with the Hippodrome's famous water spectacular, where the whole stage sinks into a pool for a synchronised swimming display. Hosted by Jack Jay and Johnny Mac, it runs all summer at Britain's last surviving standalone circus building. Get more information here. 🎨 Raveningham Sculpture Trail (15 July–6 September, Wed–Sun) Now in its 13th year, this outdoor sculpture exhibition spreads across three acres of meadows, gardens and woodland at the Raveningham Centre in south Norfolk. This year's theme is Ritual, with 60 artists creating site-specific work. Get more information here. 🎤 Cromer Pier Show (27 June – 19 September) The only full-season end-of-pier show left in the world, running at the Pavilion Theatre with singing, dancing, comedy and rotating guest acts right through to mid-September. Hello Norfolk explorers 👋 The August Bank Holiday weekend is nearly here, and it's shaping up to be a busy one across Norfolk. Last week we made it to Cromer Carnival to catch the Red Arrows fly past (pictured above), which never gets old no matter how many times we've seen it. Hello Norfolk explorers 👋 We hope you were able to get out and enjoy the eclipse. We had a picnic at St. Benet’s Abbey and watched it from there (see photo above). If you missed it, the next chance comes on 2 August 2027, but it won't be as big. The UK won't see one this size again until 2030.
