Hello Norfolk explorers 👋

We hope you've been making the most of the sunshine this week. There's nowhere quite like Norfolk in late July.

I was invited to the RHS Sandringham Flower Show last week (pictured above), the first time an RHS show has been held at a royal estate. The King and Queen were there too. I had such a lovely day, and you can read all about it in our blog post.

It's a big week for events. Two carnivals kick off in Wells and Sheringham, Classic Ibiza brings an orchestra and DJ sets to Blickling Estate, and Fakenham's month-long arts festival gets underway.

✨ What's Happening Around Norfolk This Week?

🎉 Wells Carnival (31 July–9 August, Carnival Day 8 August)

Wells Carnival has been running for over 100 years, with more than 100 events packed across ten days this year. Look out for the raft race, sandcastle competition, Screen on the Green, live music across six evenings, and the Carnival Day Parade with themed floats, fancy dress and local music through the town. Most events are free, though a few individual activities are ticketed, so it's worth checking the full programme.

🎡 Sheringham Carnival (1–9 August)

Sheringham Carnival returns for a packed week of seaside fun, community events and carnival celebrations. Highlights this year include Crowning Day at The Leas, the much-loved Carnival Parade on Wednesday evening, and a Shantymen concert to close the week. Some events may require tickets or have a small admission charge.

🍺 Fly High Beer Festival (31 July–2 August)

Now in its fifth year, this festival just south of Norwich combines local craft beers and ciders with live music, street food and a great community atmosphere. Alongside the drinks there's a dog show, a classic car display, craft stalls and camping, including a dedicated area for anyone flying in.

🎪 Harlequin Fayre (31 July–2 August)

This community-spirited weekend festival on a West Norfolk estate is now in its 14th year, with live music ranging from big bands and world music to reggae and DJs. Expect circus performances, cabaret, free workshops, woodland activities and a Kidz Zone too. The festival is solar-powered, and camping, including glamping, is available.

🍻 Ranworth Beer Festival (31 July–2 August)

This annual beer festival raises funds for the village hall, with a wide selection of ales and ciders, live music on Friday and Saturday evenings, and food on offer all weekend.

🧘 Norwich Yoga Festival (1 August)

Now in its fifth year, the Norwich Yoga Festival packs a full day of yoga classes, workshops, meditations and wellness activities across eight stages and tents. It's a welcoming atmosphere for all abilities, whether you're a regular practitioner or completely new to yoga. Dogs on leads are allowed on site, though not in the classes themselves.

🎧 Classic Ibiza at Blickling Estate (1 August)

Classic Ibiza returns to the grounds of Blickling Estate for its 11th year, with an expanded 45-piece Urban Soul Orchestra, fresh DJ sets and vocals from the London Community Gospel Choir. Bring your own food and drink or make the most of the bars and street food on site.

🎨 Fakenham Arts Festival (1–30 August)

Fakenham Arts Festival brings a month of creativity to the town, with artwork displayed in shop windows and venues right across Fakenham. There's a free family art trail, an activity pack to collect, and workshops running throughout August. New for 2026, biographical arts films about Frida Kahlo, Caravaggio, and Turner and Constable are showing on Tuesday evenings at the local cinema. Most of the festival is free, though the cinema screenings are ticketed separately.

🌊 Summer Circus & Water Spectacular (8 July–13 September)

The Summer Circus and Water Spectacular is back at Britain's last surviving standalone circus building, the Great Yarmouth Hippodrome, for its 2026 season. International circus acts perform alongside the famous water spectacular, where the whole stage sinks into a giant pool for a synchronised swimming display. Hosted by Jack Jay and Johnny Mac.

🗿 Raveningham Sculpture Trail (15 July–6 September)

Raveningham Sculpture Trail is back for its 13th year, set across three acres of semi-wild meadows, gardens and woodland at the Raveningham Centre in south Norfolk. This year's theme is Ritual, with 60 artists creating site-specific works, and there's some wheelchair access with a mobility scooter available. Entry £8, free for under 18s.

🎭 Cromer Pier Show (27 June–19 September)

Cromer Pier Show is the only full-season end-of-pier show in the world, running at the Pavilion Theatre right through to mid-September. This year's run marks the pier's 125th anniversary, with comedian Jack Gleadow hosting a cast of singers, dancers and guest acts. Tickets from £24.
