🎉 Norfolk This Week: More Than Just St George’s Day

Hello Norfolk explorers 👋

This week has a very British feel to it across Norfolk.

St George’s Day celebrations are popping up around the county, and there are plenty of food and drink festivals to go with it, from cider and ale to local produce in Norwich.

Tulip season is still going strong too, so if you haven’t made it out yet, there’s still time.

Here’s what else is happening across Norfolk this week ⬇️

Finnbar’s Force is thrilled to bring back the Little Fox Charity Ball at Dunston Hall! This event is extra special as it’s named in memory of Finnbar. The name “Little Fox” comes from the Latin translation of the star constellation Vulpecula, a beautiful tribute that ties together his love for Star Wars and his favourite animal, the fox.

For 2026, the display is set to be incredible, with 9.1 million tulips across 20 acres. It’s also all for a great cause, raising funds for Tapping House hospice.

Tulips at Houghton (Select Days 11 April - Early May)

Planned with leading bulb specialists Peter Nyssen, this display will bring plenty of spring colour to Houghton’s award-winning five-acre Walled Garden. Admission includes Tulips at Houghton in the Walled Garden, plus the Deer Park and Old Stables Courtyard with the Soldier Museum, café and gift shop. Hello Norfolk explorers 👋 We hope you're having a great week. Last weekend was all about chasing poppies for us! It's incredible how many amazing poppy fields there are in Norfolk this year. I think my favourite was the one by Kelling (pictured above), which has a sea view and where we were lucky enough to see a rainbow. The poppy field near Blakeney was also impressive, and there are too many around Courtyard Farm near Ringstead to count. We took so many photos that we're still sharing them...

Hello Norfolk explorers 👋 We hope you're having a great week. If social media is anything to go by, it feels like everyone in Norfolk is talking about the poppies right now. We haven't made it there yet, but it's firmly on our weekend plans and we'll be sure to report back. In the meantime, we've included a photo from our visit last year to the Sandringham poppy field. Of course, there's plenty more happening across the county too, from vintage festivals and carnivals to circus performances,...

Hello Norfolk explorers 👋 We really couldn’t have asked for better weather over the Bank Holiday weekend. Ok, maybe it was a little too hot at times, but hopefully you managed to stay cool and enjoy some time outdoors. We spent part of the weekend at the Norwich Games Festival, which was great fun, and also got out for a riverside walk and another visit to Sheringham Park. The rhododendrons are still looking lovely in places, although this recent heat seems to have pushed some areas past...
