🎪 Street Performances, Races, Beer & Games Across Norfolk This Week

Hello Norfolk explorers 👋

We really couldn’t have asked for better weather over the Bank Holiday weekend. Ok, maybe it was a little too hot at times, but hopefully you managed to stay cool and enjoy some time outdoors.

We spent part of the weekend at the Norwich Games Festival, which was great fun, and also got out for a riverside walk and another visit to Sheringham Park. The rhododendrons are still looking lovely in places, although this recent heat seems to have pushed some areas past their best a bit earlier than usual.

There’s another busy week ahead across Norfolk, with free performances at Out There Festival, sailing races on the Broads, comic con, beer festivals and more.

Here’s what else is going on across Norfolk this week ⬇️

✨ What's Happening Around Norfolk This Week?

Out There Festival (28 - 30 May)

Experience the magic of the Out There Festival in Great Yarmouth, where over 100 performances from UK and international artists come together in a whirlwind of circus, acrobatics, dance, comedy, and music. The festival offers a vibrant celebration of creativity and diversity, with almost all performances being completely free.

Three Rivers Race (30 - 31 May)

The Three Rivers Race, a longstanding event on the Broads sailing calendar, has been held annually since 1961. It is renowned as one of the largest inland yachting races in Europe and takes place in rural Norfolk. Originally intended to cross the estuary at Breydon Water, safety and tidal concerns led to a change in course. The race now follows the northern Broadland rivers of the Bure, Thurne, and Ant, which have become the enduring trio of rivers for the event.

Great Yarmouth Comic Con (30 -31 May)

Back for its 6th year, this Comic Con features a host of movie props, cosplayers, celebrity guests and more at Great Yarmouth Racecourse.

Hello Norfolk explorers 👋 We hope you're having a great week. Last weekend was all about chasing poppies for us! It's incredible how many amazing poppy fields there are in Norfolk this year. I think my favourite was the one by Kelling (pictured above), which has a sea view and where we were lucky enough to see a rainbow. The poppy field near Blakeney was also impressive, and there are too many around Courtyard Farm near Ringstead to count. We took so many photos that we're still sharing them...

Hello Norfolk explorers 👋 We hope you're having a great week. If social media is anything to go by, it feels like everyone in Norfolk is talking about the poppies right now. We haven't made it there yet, but it's firmly on our weekend plans and we'll be sure to report back. In the meantime, we've included a photo from our visit last year to the Sandringham poppy field. Of course, there's plenty more happening across the county too, from vintage festivals and carnivals to circus performances,...
